My mum was cleaning out her room earlier in the year and found her old Motorola StarTAC phone and I absolutely freaked out over it. That phone was the reason I fell in love with clamshell phones and it was wonderful to hold it in my hands again. Unfortunately, the charger was nowhere to be seen and I highly doubted it would have been in functioning order, since the last time it was even turned on was about ten years ago.
So it came as a gleeful surprise when, French company, Lekki announced that it was reissuing the StarTAC in 4 colours (green, magenta, yellow and black). Those with a hankering for a piece of nostalgia can get their hands on it for US$150. For a little bit more money, you can even customise it with a few different colours.
Obviously, it can’t compete with today’s smartphones but if you can’t be bothered to be connected 24/7, you’d still be looking ultra-mod with this device!
