Here’s a run down of the strangest holidays and observances in the month of June!

3 June – Repeat Day (yes, Repeat Day)

Repeat Day is an opportunity to do things over and over again. Repeat Day is an opportunity to do things over and over again. Say something nice and it comes out twice and eat good food for a doubly happy belly! 

4 June – Hug Your Cat Day 

This is the day you give your cat a great big hug. In fact, you know what, take a day off and spend the whole day cuddling with the feline one. Don’t have a cat? Look out for the next weird day in June…

5 June – World Environment Day 

This one’s not so weird but it’s important enough to make the list. According to the United Nations “World Environment Day is commemorated each year on June 5th. It is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action.” This World Environment Day find out more about environmental issues!

8 June – Best Friend Day 

So incredibly sappy but true; a best friend is hard to come by. This Best Friend Day, grab a friend, give him/her a great big hug. If your best friend is your cat then June must be your cat’s happiest month.

10 June – Iced Tea Da

On this day have iced tea with sugar or without, with a slice of lemon or two drops of milk – who cares, just drink all the iced tea in the world you want. 

13 June – Sewing Machine Day 

Sewing Machine Day celebrates a very important invention – the sewing machine. The first sewing machines were made in France in the 1830s. It wasn’t until 1846, that they were patented in the U.S. Prior to it’s creation, clothes items were sewn together by hand. If you’ve got a sewing machine dust it off and get a’stitchin. Don’t know how? Ask Grandma. 

17 June – Eat Your Veggies Day 

Yes, chow down those mean greens, they are good for health. Include a portion of vegetables to your diet and you’ll find yourself healthier in time to come. Fibre is important, just ask your colon. 

18 June – International Panic Day 

What?! Did you say? How can it be?? Observe International Panic Day for an extra dose of stress! 

19 June – World Sauntering Day 

This is the day where the world saunters here and there. Sauntering is a cool form of walking, more like a leisurely stroll. 

20 June – Fathers’ Day 

Another non-bizarre day on this list. This Fathers’ Day tell your dad how much you love him even if at one point he said you were stupid. 

21 June – Go Skate Day 

Hop on a skateboard and skate this day away. To avoid making a fool of yourself, go to places that skaters frequent and watch them do their thing instead of trying to skate and failing miserably. 

24 June – Swim a Lap Day 

That’s right, swim just one lap! Simple and easy. Change into your swimsuit, plop yourself into the pool, and swim to the end of the pool and back. Get up, towel off, go home and wait another year to do the same thing. 

27 June – Sunglasses Day 

Whether you’re a Ray-Ban, Carrera or more luxury brand fan, surely you own at least a pair of sunglasses. This 27th June, put them on but take them off when the sun sets please. 

29 June – Camera Day

Do we really need more reason to take more pictures than we already do? Seems so. On 29th June go crazy and snap everything you see. Bring extra memory cards and batteries.
