Strike a balance between being festive and fashion forward with 3 easy ways by jazzing up with reds and greens!

By Denise Lee

Denise is a final year English Literature major who struggles with a weakness for good food, gorgeous prints and poetics. She puts head and heart into eveything she does; with a muddle of creative interests, she is deeply in love with life.

While most people (reasonably) above the equator hope for a White Christmas, here we melt, swelter and silently curse in the heat and humidity, waiting for the next air-conditioned respite. With the festive season right upon us, there are parties dotted all over the social calendar & it’s always a struggle to strike that balance between being festive and fashion forward, so Penny’s letting you in on 3 easy ways to jazz up those festive colours of Red and Green with unique accessories!

Ring Me Up: A little statement piece says you’re bold and a little bit old school to boot.
Tip: Match your eye makeup with a hint of either burgundy or emerald to bring it all together!

Feathery Wishes: Peacock plume prints add a classy touch of green that’s unconventional and striking.
Tip: Go with just one long feathered earring, or pin the fascinator on as a brooch instead!

Broochin’ the Matter: Dazzle up your LBD with some subtle tinsel-taste glam.
Tip: Pin the brooch on the shoulder of a toga dress or at the top of a keyhole on the back of your dress!

While chestnuts (and other things) roast in the heat of the season, have fun with all the dressing up. Whether you’re about town for dinner and drinks or at an Xmas party, jazz up your outfit with a little twist on classic accessorising and join in on the jingle jangle!
