Picture 11Monarchy has to be one of my new favourite brands. Breaking away from denim, hoodies and kickass T-shirts, Monarchy is coming into its own, with its take on a classic look with a raw edge that is well-tailored and sophisticated.

Still keeping to its roots in denim, the brand’s latest collection does away with huge graphic prints and cuts it close with clean lines and fit, which are oh-so-fashionable.

After a look at Eric Kim’s East Coast debut at New York City’s Fashion Week at Bryant Park, we fell in love with the edgy collection. Also Inspired by the military look, the fall collection is made up of a neutral palette, sophisticated suits and darling jackets that fit like a glove.

His ready-to-wear clothes were particularly appealing to a broad age-group for men, spanning 18 – 40 year-olds. Classic and charismatic, his clothes added the right bit of charm and whim for those confined to the rigidity of the workplace.

Projecting the 1930s, his suits paired with derby hats were well-constructed and injected a bit of life and fancy into these classic pieces. While his line for women was equally dramatic with high collars, capes and hooded dresses with distressed applications.
