Concept Packaging: It’s Too Cool

  • SumoMe

Too intriguing to ignore and too attractive to leave behind; when it comes to shopping, window shopping, even the most well restrained individuals fail to hold their own. Face it, we’re suckers for pretty packaging. A certain portion of our sense of rationality crumbles at the sight of them and all we want to do is pick them up and head towards the cashier. Do the excuses of “I’m getting it because it’s good resource material for my work (which may or may not be existent)!” or “Cute novelty!” ring a bell? Believe it when you see our pick of four amazing examples of concept packaging!

While studying at the British Higher School of Arts and Design in Moscow, Russia, Masha Ponomareva designed this charming presentation of Artea.

Artea consists of  a basis – black or green teas – and additional natural ingredients. The consumer has the choice to make the tea they want which coincides with their mood and situation. They can experiment, control and change the tea to their taste.Lovely Packaging

Chris Welch’s idea of Credit Crunchers was the winner of the MPA Roses Student Creativity Awards 09.

The brief required the creation of a cereal range and supporting promotional material. My concept played with the themes of cheap and expensive. The outside of the box was designed to look simple, screen printed in one colour per box with minimal layout split into 3 different themes;1) food 2) shopping and 3) energy. The outside of the box includes a checklist that advises people on how to save money. While the inside of each box contains a free luxury item; Gucci handbag, Krug champagne and a Vertu phone. The intention is playful inviting people to cutout and make the items in order to cheer themselves up during the downturn. – Chris Welch
