Rogin’s samurai-themed underwear will tickle the fancy of every history buff.

This is a product rationale take from their website:

I have studied men’s underwear from various countries all over the globe for nearly 5 years, always detecting the same problems.
It gets sweaty!

When a person sweats, it all moves down the body and collects in the same place.

How can this sweat be dispersed?

Most underwear use a breathable mesh material to help displace moisture. However, synthetic fibers such as nylon or polyester are great for breath ability, but often irritate the skin.

Is there a comfortable material that is breathable and smooth on the skin? I had a series of material manufacturers create fitted samples to my request. Dozens of prototypes were tested, however, none fit the standards I set for comfort and function.

In a coming planning meeting, bandage material was suggested to use as a sample.

As you know, bandages are very important in the medical industry. Due to this importance, some distinct characteristics have developed in the material itself.

1. breathe ability
2. soft feel
3. cleanliness
4. elasticity

When I examined these characteristics, I felt they were suitable for underwear. First I inspected the composition production and background of the bandage cloth.

The machine used to produce the bandage material is a general Raschel Lace machine. In consultation with the lace maker, I asked for the production of a much wider bandage.

With the new bandage material, I made a fitted sample, but felt it was of no use. After a series of close reviews and changes, new samples were created.

Over the testing period, the 53% rayon in the original bandage was replaced with cotton, which proved to have the same benefits with a softer feel to the skin. The function and comfort of bandage underpants comes from keeping the polyurethane structure, with the addition of a cotton backside surface.

The final bandage underpants material is much different than the medical cloth, but its strong characteristics played a key role in the development of my design.

And these underwear come in a range of interesting designs as such:
Oda Nobunaga
“Oda Nobunaga”
Oda Nobunaga (June 23, 1534 – June 21, 1582) was a major daimyo during the Sengoku period of Japanese history
Tokugawa Ieyasu
“Tokugawa Ieyasu”
Tokugawa Ieyasu (January 31, 1543 – June 1, 1616) was the founder and first shogun of the Tokugawa shogunate of Japan which ruled from the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600 until the Meiji Restoration in 1868.
How’s that for a piece of history on your package?
