With Wrinkles Come Denial

  • SumoMe

In your 20s, wrinkles may seem like a far reality but just how far are away are they? Don’t be in denial, learn to deal.

An article by Penny K

A few days ago, I met up with a guy friend whom I hadn’t met in awhile. Like all good catch-up sessions our meeting was filled with laughter. I couldn’t help but notice while my friend was smiling away that – that he had what looked like wrinkles in the corners of his eyes.

crows feet p1 before

Men get them too, you know.

Me: Don’t mind me saying this, but you’ve got wrinkles at your eye area.
Him: No I don’t. Everyone has lines near their eyes, especially when they smile. It’s natural!
Me: Yeah, of course they do, just that yours are more than the usual…

I sensed he was feeling self-conscious and I didn’t want to make him swear off meeting me forever so I dropped the topic.
Two days later, he dropped me a message:

been scrutinising my eyes. think you’re right. damn. what to do now?

Wrinkles are not exclusive only to females. Men get them too. Another thing that doesn’t only apply to females? Vanity.

For those of you who are in your 20s and think wrinkles are but a remote reality, think again though there’s no reason to be overly concerned. At this age, time is on your side. Take the necessary precautions so that when the time comes for wrinkles to hit, they will be minimal.

Besides, age is how you wear it. So to my dear friend and all those whom the cruel feet of the crow have already branded, don’t worry, all you need to do is put a twinkle in your wrinkle.
