Reebok Pink Ribbon Walk 2009

Promote Breast Cancer awareness and a healthier lifestyle by participating in the second Reebok Pink Ribbon Walk, October 3, 2009, held in Singapore and organised by the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Reebok Pink Ribbon WalkOctober marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Singapore. To kick off a month-long list of activities is the Reebok Pink Ribbon Walk on October 3, 2009, organised by the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Established in October 1997, the Breast Cancer Foundation, (BCF) is a non-profit charity organization whose aim is eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease through awareness, education and early detection.

Besides activities that include the “Wear the Pink Ribbon” campaign, there will be talks and exhibitions, as well as media projects to spread BCF’s education messages.

This year, BCF has designed a new design for the pink ribbon pin that will be distributed in Orchard and various popular shopping outlets island-wide. Available for a small donation, the Pink Ribbon is an international symbol that represents awareness and hope for women with breast cancer.

Other activities includes the Pink Ribbon Spin for Life event held at Plaza Singapura on September 31, 2009, which aims to promote a healthier lifestyle, will conclude the month-long awareness campaign.

Breast Cancer PinsRegistration for the Pink Ribbon Walk is still available at the Race Pack Collection Expo at Wisma Atria from September 25 -27, 2009. The leisure walk and competitive run will take place along East Coast Park and will help to raise awareness about the number one killer of women in the world and the importance of regular exercise, which helps to reduce the risk of breast cancer.

So head on down this weekend to register so you can be a part of The Pink Ribbon Walk happening on October 3, 2009.
