You’re invited to this open party as long as you love the magical appeal of Lomography. The 25th birthday of the original LOMO LC-A was celebrated all at the Lomography Store in Hong Kong on 19 June 09 with live webcast (over a very lovely iMac) with two sister shops in Tokyo and Shanghai.

The lomo festivities commenced at 7PM with enthusiasts dressed in vibrant colours and bright accessories; a sure inclination to the night’s theme of 1984.  The walls were plastered with colour coordinated lomo snaps from the all adoring Diana, Holga, Samplers and of course the celebrated LC-A. At a tight corner just below the stairs were shots of lomo videos made by users from Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong amongst the many Asian entries.

Details, we need details! These videos edited with continual shots from lomo cameras were shown on very nostalgic television sets where you can only work it by twiddling its knobs. Trust the Hong Kong team to deck the place with such quaint touches!

Enthusiasts made their way into the shop in packs and received a goodie bag each as they left wishes on a birthday book. Food and drinks greeted the crowd too as we could leisurely view the collections of lomography camera goodness along the walls. Cool is when you’re surrounded with spontaneous creativity and a shared passion for one hobby.

With delicious food, tasty beverages, a chance at winning a lucky draw and prizes to guessing how many LC-As are packed in a glass box and the LC-A birthday cake, the mood was inevitably alleviated all the way until 10PM. But really, do parties end when the folks go home?
